Conference Audience

SAMUN is intended for 7th and 8th grade students, but students as young as 5th grade have attended in the past.

Delegates at SAMUN should keep in mind the following principles of conduct:

Delegates should:

• • • collaborate with their peers when possible,

    • remain flexible regarding the direction of debates,

    • remain courteous and professional at all times,

    • attend all committee sessions,

    • strike a balance between respect for the beliefs of the position they represent and the spirit of cooperation that underpins all Model UN events,

    • understand that SAMUN is a learning conference for everyone.

Delegates are expected to consistently represent the policies and advocate for the interests of the positions assigned to them. Delegates must also respect the opinions and ideas of fellow delegates. 

Dress

As SAMUN aims to imitate actual United Nations conferences, we encourage students to wear Western Business Attire - but nobody will be denied entry if they don't.
